Travelling Light with Toiletries
It’s taken me years to feel like I’ve mastered the art of travelling light with toiletries, but now that I have, I keep a separate travel bag with duplicates of all my essential travel toiletries. It’s ready to throw in my suitcase when I’m heading off on my next trip.
I’m a keen short break holiday traveler, so having my toiletries ready to go really takes the stress out of travelling. I also find my friends frequently marvel and the compact ‘carry-on-luggage’ size case I use.
I enjoy walking and cycling holidays and sometimes I might be carrying my luggage for an overnight stay, so keeping toiletries to a minimum is essential. I bring small light weight containers. This is my list of essentials that will fit into one standard size toiletry bag.
Essential Travel Toiletries for Women
- Shower gel – try Hendy & Fern 100 ml pouches
- Favorite shampoos & conditioners can be decanted into small reusable bottles.
- Razor
- Bar Soap – this really is a game changer. I promise you that this one product can be used as; shaving cream, hand and body wash and for hand washing your smalls.
- Hairdryer: It’s worth making sure the places you are staying have hair dryers. In an emergency I pin my hair up with lots of hair grips. My motto is if it’s up its styled.
- Body Lotion - I might trade this in for Smidge midge and insect repellent if I’m travelling somewhere where there are biting insects. It’s very moisturizing and smells nice.
- Face wash – travel sized
- Face moisturizer – travel sized
- Lip Balm: Make sure it has SPF if you expect to be spending a lot of time outdoors.
- Mini Swiss army pocket knife with tweezers, nail file, scissors screwdriver – you name it, it’s got the lot.
Happy travels folks!
